ANCHORMIND COUNSELLING SERVICES

1. Acceptance of Terms

By engaging in counselling services with AnchorMind Counselling Services ("AnchorMind," "we," "us," or "our"), you ("Client," "you," or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of our services immediately.


2. Services Provided

AnchorMind offers professional counselling and psychotherapy services in Alberta, including but not limited to:

  • Individual therapy
  • Couples & family counselling
  • Trauma therapy (CBT)
  • Teletherapy (online/phone sessions)

Services are provided by licensed counsellors in good standing with their respective regulatory bodies (e.g., College of Alberta PsychologistsAlberta College of Social Workers).


3. Client Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate personal/medical history.
  • Attend scheduled sessions on time.
  • Participate actively in therapy.
  • Notify us at least 24 hours in advance for cancellations (late cancellations/no-shows may incur fees).
  • Refrain from recording sessions without written consent.

4. Fees & Payment

  • Fees are due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged.
  • Accepted payment methods: Credit/debit, e-transfer, insurance direct billing (where applicable).
  • Late payments may incur a 1.5% monthly interest charge.
  • Returned cheques/declined payments: A $25 administrative fee applies.

5. Cancellation & No-Show Policy

  • Less than 24 hours’ notice: 50% of session fee.
  • No-show: Full session fee.
  • Exceptions may apply for emergencies (at AnchorMind’s discretion).

6. Confidentiality

  • All sessions are strictly confidential under Alberta’s Health Information Act (HIA) and professional ethical guidelines.
  • Exceptions (where disclosure is legally required):
    • Risk of harm to self/others.
    • Suspected child/elder abuse.
    • Court-ordered subpoena.

7. Limitations of Therapy

  • Counselling is not a substitute for medical care.
  • AnchorMind does not provide emergency/crisis services. For urgent help, contact:

8. Termination of Services

Either party may terminate services with written notice. Reasons we may terminate:

  • Non-payment.
  • Inappropriate behaviour (e.g., harassment, threats).
  • Lack of therapeutic progress.

9. Intellectual Property

All materials (worksheets, handouts, videos) provided by AnchorMind are for personal use only. Unauthorized distribution is prohibited.


10. Liability Waiver

AnchorMind shall not be liable for:

  • Decisions made by the Client outside sessions.
  • Technical failures in teletherapy (e.g., internet disruptions).
  • Unforeseen interruptions in service (e.g., natural disasters).

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in Alberta courts.


12. Amendments

AnchorMind reserves the right to update these Terms. Clients will be notified of material changes.

By booking a session, you confirm you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
